We’re told in Romans 8:1-2

Therefore there is now no condemnation for those who are in Christ Jesus.

For the law of the Spirit of life in Christ Jesus has set you free from the law of sin and of death.

This verse is one of many which tell of the irreversible love of God the Father, which He has granted to those He has given to Jesus the Son. If you’re a child of God, you’ve been eternally saved from the penalty of the law of sin and death; that’s the law that weighs or assesses a man’s life, in comparison, or against, the righteous requirement of God, which is shown to us by the pure perfect example of the life of Christ Jesus. All that God requires of man, has been fulfilled in no man other than Christ Jesus, He perfectly, fully obeyed and pleased the Father, throughout His whole life.

So how does anyone come to be in a position of being a recipient of eternal salvation, when as we’re told in Romans 3:23, “all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God,“?

It’s only through the merciful will of God, to grant faith and repentance to many, redeeming them to Himself through the blood of Christ Jesus:

But as many as received Him, to them He gave the right to become children of God, even to those who believe in His name, who were born, not of blood nor of the will of the flesh nor of the will of man, but of God.

John 1:12-13

For if while we were enemies we were reconciled to God through the death of His Son, much more, having been reconciled, we shall be saved by His life.

Romans 5:10 LSB

All that the Father gives Me will come to Me, and the one who comes to Me I will never cast out.

John 6:37 LSB

These verses tell us of the love of God delivered in the form of eternal salvation, through Christ Jesus. The phrase “Eternal Salvation” is exactly that, Eternal, and it’s realised from the moment of repentance in faith granted by God. Christ Jesus has been revealed as the Saviour from eternal judgment, but many have, and still do reject Him. He lived among men as a man, even riding into Jerusalem on the foal of a donkey, but no man other than Christ Jesus ever rose from the dead by their own power.

For this reason the Father loves Me, because I lay down My life so that I may take it again.

John 10:17 LSB

Though God the Father has put all judgment into Jesus authority, during His time on earth, Jesus didn’t apply the penalty of judgment to any one. In John 3:17, Jesus said:

… God didn’t send the Son into the world to judge the world, but that the world might be saved through Him.

While a person is still alive, in many cases, there is still hope of salvation. We’re told in Ecclesiastes 9:4

For whoever is joined with all the living, there is confidence; surely a live dog is better than a dead lion.

But the same Christ Jesus who came to save, will come to earth again, but instead of riding on the foal of a donkey, He’ll be riding a white horse judging the nations by the Word of His mouth:

Then I saw heaven opened, and behold, a white horse, and He who sits on it is called Faithful and True, and in righteousness He judges and wages war.
His eyes are a flame of fire, and on His head are many diadems; having a name written on Him which no one knows except Himself,
and being clothed with a garment dipped in blood, His name is also called The Word of God.
And the armies which are in heaven, clothed in fine linen, white and clean, were following Him on white horses.
And from His mouth comes a sharp sword, so that with it He may STRIKE DOWN THE NATIONS, and He will RULE THEM WITH A ROD OF IRON; and HE TREADS THE WINE PRESS OF THE WRATH OF THE RAGE OF GOD, the Almighty.
And He has on His garment and on His thigh a name written, “KING OF KINGS, AND LORD OF LORDS.”

The same Jesus who died to redeem many to the Father, will, by His judgement, send many to eternal suffering in hell, because it’s been given to Him by the Father, to righteously judge all men:

For not even the Father judges anyone, but He has given all judgment to the Son,
so that all will honor the Son even as they honor the Father. He who does not honor the Son does not honor the Father who sent Him.
Truly, truly, I say to you, he who hears My word, and believes Him who sent Me, has eternal life, and does not come into judgment, but has passed out of death into life.

John 5:21-24

Everyone who receives salvation through Christ Jesus, will NEVER BE JUDGED TO CONDEMNATION, they have passed from death to life, this is irreversible:

for the gifts and the calling of God are irrevocable.

And although you were formerly alienated and enemies in mind and in evil deeds, but now He reconciled you in the body of His flesh through death…

Colossians 1:21-22

No one can take an eternally saved person from the secure hands of God the Father, if they think they can, they have no idea of Who He really is.

Saints can rest fully, in the knowledge of their salvation being secure by the blood of Christ Jesus, according to the immutable will of God the Father.
